Born in Houston, Texas and moved to Austin Texas at the age of 15, my world was turned upside down from everything I knew. Austin became a magical place to me, full of excitement and culture and I settled right in. Living in my suburban bubble just on the outside, I dreamed of living in the middle of it all. I soaked in the music and the culture of the city, which cultivated my creative roots and inspired my love of live music, dance clubs, photography, and writing. I became a renaissance woman and I loved every minute of it. After becoming a young mother, I focused on motherhood and school and started taking classes sporadically. I received an associates from Austin Community College in English and I later went on to graduate from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology and Statistics minoring in Mass Communication. While I was attending college, I started implementing those creative roots and volunteered at KOOP 91.7, community radio station. Later, I served as an assistant to general manager, Louis Meyers, one of the original founding members of SXSW at Austin Music Network Ch15. I worked, interned, and volunteered in the music industry with Austin Music People (AMP), SXSW, and Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau. I helped coordinate a music bloggers event during SXSW, wrote press releases, and was credited as Assistant Producer on a yearly released, local music compilation CD, Austin Music Vol. 9. Focusing on a more steady work schedule, my career catapulted in marketing as a Marketing Representative for a probiotic company. I implemented and developed marketing strategies for sales and business development. For my job performance, I was awarded the Outstanding Employee Award in Tokyo, Japan in 2015. Currently, I am a Digital Marketing/SEO Specialist for a land clearing, welding, and metal supply company.
As a freelance writer and photographer, I have contributed to local music blogs including; Red River Noise and Austin Music + Entertainment. I still contribute to online writing community, Hubpages and I still have a love of music reviewing. As a photographer, I served as a contract photographer to Porsche, Maserati, Bentley, and Audi of Austin with Car Media 2.0 and I am currently an Etsy shop owner selling downloadable art and photography prints.
