Born in Houston, Texas and later moving to Austin, Texas at the age of 15, I soaked in the music and the culture of Austin, which cultivated my creative roots and inspired my love of music, photography, and writing. I am a graduate from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Sociology and Statistics, minoring in Mass Communication. While in college, I spent time volunteering at KOOP 91.7, community radio station and later served as an assistant at Austin Music Network Ch.15 to general manager, Louis Meyers, one of the original founding members of SXSW. I worked, interned, and volunteered around the music industry with Austin Music People (AMP), SXSW, and Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau. I helped coordinate a music bloggers event during SXSW, wrote press releases, and credited as Assistant Producer on a yearly released, local music compilation CD, Austin Music Vol. 9. I helped with the design layout, music licensing, and content writing for the CD and booklet insert. My career catapulted in marketing as a Marketing Representative for a probiotic company, implementing and developing marketing strategies for sales increase and business development. For my performance, I was awarded the Outstanding Employee Award in Tokyo, Japan in 2015. Later, I became a Marketing Coordinator for an independent research facility and developed marketing strategies for recruitment, conducted community outreach, and served as a social media manager and writer, in-house photographer, and graphic designer.
As a writer and photographer, I have contributed to local music blogs; Red River Noise and Austin Music + Entertainment, and online writing community; Hubpages.
